2017 BCGBA broadcasts

Darren Plenderleith in the 2017 final against Ross Meese

The 2017 BCGBA funded bowls programmes highlighted once again what a fantastic sport we have.

All the events were claimed by first-time winners, who added their names to the lists of crown green champions.

On the Globegig Media YouTube channel the videos can be watched again. So far the videos have had over 31,000 views and record for posterity what an enjoyable sport we have.

Hopefully we can bring you similar enjoyment this year.

Senior Merit

This was played at the Griff and Coton club and was won by North Midlands’ Darren Plenderleith who played magnificently all day.

Junior Merit

This played at the Wigan Subscription club and the title was claimed by Warwick and Worcs’ Lucas Hall.

Champion of Champions sponsored by Fred.Olsen Cruises

A classic day to end the season as Michael Beer from Shropshire proved to the best of a very high quality field.

Ladies Champion of Champions sponsored by Country Garden Roses

Merseyside’s Lynsey Gorman claimed the title at the famous Waterloo Hotel in Blackpool

Game of the year?

We were lucky this year to have so many games to enjoy. Was this semi-final clash at the Fred.Olsen Champion of Champions the best of all though?
