Darren Plenderleith in the 2017 final against Ross Meese

The 2017 BCGBA British Senior Merit was held at the Griff and Coton Sports Club in Nuneaton.

The winner was one of North Midlands own, a young man who has already achieved great success in the game but claimed the biggest win of his career, his name is Darren Plenderleith. On the day 64 of the best players in the game tried claim the title of national champion but none could live with the skills or determination to win that Darren showed.

The event was jointly organised by the BCGBA, North Midlands CBA and the Griff and Coton. They should be congratulated for producing such a wonderful venue which led to a fantastic day of crown green bowls. My thanks to them and to all who turned up to make a special day.

The broadcast was produced by Steve Davies, on behalf of the BCGBA, and Globegig Media.
