Arthur Land Super Cup launches for 2017

Esclusham BC (Wrexham) winners of 2016 Arthur Land Super Cup

The Arthur Land Super Cup has opened for entries for this season. This competition is widely regarded as the premier team competition in the country and has produced some fantastic matches.

Who will join the list of winners? Can Esclusham, the pride of Wales, repeat their success of last season?

The entries  are open till the end of March with the draw being done shortly after. The entry fee is £40 per club and all entry fees will be paid out as part of the prize fund.

The finals day will be on Sunday 8th October and since the final day has been hosted at two northern greens in the last two years it will be making a welcome return to the southern group.

All games in the competition are 31up and are contested on a four home – four away basis. All matches are decided on the aggregate score across both venues and should there be a tie on the aggregate then the team with the most winners wins the game.

Steve Davies

Throughout his bowling career Steve has always supported the admin side of the game. As a club secretary, association secretary, county delegate on the BCGBA (National Governing Body) Management Committee, Merseyside champion in 2002 and Merseyside County President (2014-15) Steve has always been keen to promote the game especially through the broadcast of the game on TV or Internet. Steve set up the LIVE BOWLS YouTube channel and, through the LDBA, runs national competitions. Seeing an avenue to report and promote the game Steve set up the Bowls Observer on-line magazine after consulting with respected figures in the game and journalism.
